The problem is that we're angular
not circular--remember Yeats' gyres--
look at us when we walk
look at the lines--
check out those cheekbones.

It wasn't clover in the lawn this time
that made us see the Milky Way,
it was the very thing itself
looking down at us
in our own dark wilderness.
